While the fourth year conference is mainly focused on community outreach programmes, the main objective of the fifth year conference is fundraising. Much of the money raised goes towards the trip to Ethiopia. This year ten students will vist Ambo, in central Ethiopia. There, they will help the locals in a number of ways. Some of the work carried out over there includes teaching English and vistiting orphanages.
Fundraising takes place throughout the year. The Christmas tree sale is an annual event which is always a great success. This year, framed prints of the college are also being sold with the proceeds going to the SVP. Members of the SVP are also planning to a hold a gig in the College in February. This will be an oppurtunity to see upcomming bands and will also raise funds. We also hope to stage a "movie night". This will involve showing a newly released DVD in the concert hall. A donation of €2 will be taken at the door and the proceeds will go to the SVP.
Meetings of the fifth year conference are held each Friday at lunchtime while the fourth years meet on Fridays after school. New members are always welcome to join.
